Help! I Dropped Something Down the Sink in Greenville: The Story Behind a Recovered Heirloom Ring

Our business has always focused on the people we help. Our customers are at the center of everything we do. Most days have their ups and downs, but sometimes something special happens that reminds us why we love our work. Today was one of those days.

What began as a normal service call soon turned into something special. Jean and Jack, owner and one of our team members, were asked to recover a ring that had fallen down the sink and (hopefully) into the P-trap. This wasn’t just any ring; it was a family heirloom filled with memories from many generations.

When we got there, we knew we had to be ready for anything. “We used the micro reel camera just in case it made it past the P-trap,” Jean said. “We can scope it, find it, do what we gotta do to get it out for her. I’m hoping that it’s in the P-trap, but just in case, we had the proper tools.”

Jean and Jack took their time and worked carefully to reach the sink’s trap. Jean supervised as Jack gently freed the ring. “How about that? What you got there, Jack?” Jean asked. Jack grinned, “We got it, we got a ring. We got the ring out. That’s what we do. That’s it!”

The owner was clearly relieved. She told us the story behind this special ring:

“This is an antique wedding band with my engagement diamond on the top. The three diamonds on the side are from my mother’s wedding ring. And the three diamonds on the left are from a ring that my grandfather had.”

Getting this ring back wasn’t just a plumbing job. It meant giving back a piece of family history and memories that can’t be replaced. The owner was truly grateful. “Awesome, I’m glad we were able to get that out for you,” Jack said. “Oh, you are so welcome. Jack here is the man to get that out for you!”

The customer’s happiness spread to everyone. She said it best: “Thank you! I should buy you a bottle of champagne!”

Every day in this business is important to us. But moments like this, when we can truly help someone, remind us why we love our work. Today, we didn’t just fix a plumbing problem. We helped return a priceless family treasure, and it made us feel proud.
